‘ROCK STAR’ HITS LOW NOTE WITH SOME METAL FANS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Wireless Flash) – The new 1980s heavy metal nostalgia flick, Rock Star, isn’t hitting the high notes with some die-hard fans of the musical era. Take former Saturday Night Live comic Jim Breuer, for example. He loves ’80s metal bands so much he’s having a heavy metal quartet thrash away during his jokes on his current comedy tour – but he says there’s no way he’ll go see Rock Star. Breuer feels the flick – which stars former hip-hopper Mark Wahlberg – is just a piece of “Hollywood cheese” that isn’t true to the classic metal band which inspired it, Judas Priest. All complaints aside, the comic is sticking to spreading the heavy metal message in his own way – with comedy.
