‘SHREK’ SCARES UP 12 ‘ANNIE’ NOMINATIONS



BURBANK, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – Months after its release, Shrek is still scaring up interest. In fact, it’s just been nominated as Best Animated Picture in something called the “Annie Awards.” The Annies honor the best in animation and Shrek is up for Best Picture against The Emperors New Groove, Osmosis Jones and Blood: The Last Vampire. Meanwhile, nominees for Best Animated Actor include Eddie Murphy for Shrek; Leonard Nimoy for Atlantis: The Lost Empire and William Shatner for Osmosis Jones. In addition, Alyssa Milano’s role in Lady And The Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure has earned her a nomination for Best Animated Actress and her competition includes Eartha Kitt from The Emperor’s New Groove. The Annies will be announced November 10 in Glendale, California.
