BACKSTREET BOYS: ‘SHOW ME THE MEANING OF BEING MISQUOTED’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- Backstreet Boys singer Kevin Richardson is singing a different tune these days: “Show Me The Meaning Of Being Misquoted.” Richardson says comments he made just after the U.S. terrorist attacks about Americans being “arrogant” have been taken out of context. According to Richardson, what he meant to say is the country has become “overconfident” and takes freedom for granted. In fact, he wonders how many Americans have watched news coverage of terrorism going on in other countries and then “just turned the channel.” The teen idol says he’s sorry if his thoughts were “insensitive” and insists he loves America. To prove his patriotism, he points out that he enlisted in the Army before forming the Backstreet Boys.
