EARHART FLIGHT REENACTMENT TO RESUME AFTER TERRORIST ATTACK

HOBBS, New Mexico (Wireless Flash) – Good news for folks following a California woman’s reenactment of Amelia Earhart’s 1928 journey across America: It is due to resume later today (Sep. 21). Since the terrorist attacks last week, pilot Carlene Mendieta and her bi- plane have been grounded in Hobbs, New Mexico, waiting for the FAA to clear planes that use “visual flight rules” to fly again. Now, the approval has come through and the Mendieta will continue on with the remainder of the flight. She isn’t even behind schedule, because she had planned to take a week-long break. The Earhart imitator will finish her cross-country trip on October 5th in Rye, New York, weather permitting.
