‘BATTLE HYMN’ TO BECOME POWER BALLAD

ORLANDO, Fla. (Wireless Flash) – You’ve heard of “The Battle Hymn of The Republic.” Now there’s the “Power Ballad Of The Republic.” Hard rock icons Pat Travers and Mike Reno of Loverboy have formed a new group with members of Deep Purple and Rainbow called The Voices Of Classic Rock. The first tune to be released by the group will be a rendition of the “Battle Hymn” that says sounds more like a patriotic “power ballad” than a march. The patriotic rockers have also recorded a rock version of “America The Beautiful” and member Leslie West of the late 1960s band, Mountain, has written a new song, “Sea Of Fire,” dedicated to New York firefighters. The Voices Of Classic Rock will release the new patriotic tunes within a few weeks and plan to hold a benefit concert in Washington, D.C., later this year.
