CANDID CAMERA YANKS AIRPORT SECURITY PRANK

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Add Candid Camera to the list of TV shows changing their content following the U.S. terrorist attacks. Host Peter Funt says PAX-TV won’t air a recently-filmed prank that involved glitches at an airport security checkpoint. The gag had Funt playing a security officer who orders passengers to lay down on the moving baggage conveyor belt while he makes comments like, “I don’t see any weapons, but you might want to get your gall bladder checked.” Funt says the victims of the prank thought it was hilarious at the time, but nobody wants to joke about airport security right now. Funt says Candid Camera’s staff is also concerned about filming future gags on unsuspecting victims, because they don’t know if Americans are yet ready to be the butt of a joke on national TV.
