LUCILLE BALL JUST AS KLUTZY IN REAL LIFE

LUCILLE BALL JUST AS KLUTZY IN REAL LIFE

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – October 15 marks the 50th anniversary of the debut of I Love Lucy, one of the most popular sitcoms ever. Although Lucille Ball long insisted she was nothing like her TV character, a close friend disagrees. Lee Tannen knew Lucy during the last ten years of her life and says there were times when he just wanted to shake his head and say, “Ohhh, Lucy.” For instance, one time Lucy made the bathtub overflow and tried cleaning up the spill with a Dustbuster. She also had a tendency to burn her favorite meal: frankfurters and beans. Tannen’s top “Lucy moment” happened when he took her to see Terms Of Endearment in a theater. He says the crowd was thrilled to see her – until the film started. Lucy jabbered so loudly during the flick, her fans threw popcorn at her. Tannen is the author of a new book, I Loved Lucy (St. Martin’s Press).
