PATTI PAGE: ‘DOGS AREN’T GOOD DUET PARTNERS’

MANCHESTER, N.H. (Wireless Flash) – Although Patti Page is most famous for singing, “How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?” she doesn’t think pooches make great duet partners. Page says even though she’s been invited to sing the song with many different breeds of dogs over the years “...not one of them got [the barking “ruff ruff” part] right!” As a result, Page now refuses to work with real dogs when she performs the doggie ditty in concerts – but she says it works out because audience members usually do the “ruff ruffs” for the missing canine crooners. The city of Manchester, New Hampshire, will be singing Miss Page’s praises on Thursday (Oct. 4), as town leaders have declared it “Patti Page Day.”
