EMERIL SITCOM: HOLLYWOOD’S BEST CATERED SET

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Critics haven’t been kind to the new NBC sitcom, Emeril, but showbiz insiders say it deserves honors for having the best-catered set in showbiz. TV chef Emeril Lagasse says that while he doesn’t actually cook for the entire crew, he has given the show’s caterer ideas for meals – which probably wouldn’t stand muster with the skinny-minnies on Ally McBeal: Lunch on the Emeril set includes dishes like crispy catfish; macaroni and cheese and collard greens. Emeril also says all the food seen on the show is real and there’s an on-set chef to help prepare food for scenes. And although some sitcoms might settle for prop food, Emeril says he won’t because even though the TV audience will never the taste the meals, he’s sure they can “tell the difference.” Emeril airs Tuesdays on NBC.
