BOBBING FOR DOLLARS

BOBBING FOR DOLLARS

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Auctioneers are bobbing for dollars with an auction of the largest collection of bobbing head baseball dolls ever to come to market. The 60 ceramic dolls were all made during the 1960s and are now up for bid at csuauctions.com. Included in the sale is a rare 14-inch-tall “giant” Yankee doll that’s expected to fetch more than $2000 and a Willie Mays bobbing head that’s worth at least $263. There’s also two really scarce Harlem Globetrotters figurines that should go for $500 to $1000 each and even a Dr. Kildare bobbing head doll with a $50 minimum bid. Auctioneer Steve Verkman says the bouncy-headed dolls have seen a surge of popularity in recent years because baseball teams have started giving them away at games.
