THE BALLAD OF A JOHN LENNON IMPERSONATOR

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Wireless Flash) – Tomorrow (Oct. 9) is the 61st anniversary of John Lennon’s birth and one Lennon impersonator says it will be a hard day’s night. Impersonator Tim Piper has been imitating Lennon for 12 years and says the job is great – except when folks make crude Yoko jokes or ask him “How did the bullet feel when it hit your body?” The 42-year-old Piper thinks the reason he fools folks is because he portrays Lennon as up-to-date, and he frequently quotes Lennon – such as the time he sang at a nudist colony and introduced the tune “Twist And Shout” by saying, “Those in the cheap seats, clap your hands. The rest, just rattle your jewels.” Piper will spend Lennon’s birthday by performing at the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
