FAT FOLKS DON’T GET LUCKY ON TV

EAST LANSING, Mich. (Wireless Flash) – It ain’t easy being fat – especially if you’re a character on TV. A new study by researchers at Michigan State University shows chubby TV characters are less likely to date or have sex than their skinnier counterparts. The research also shows roly-poly female TV characters are twice as likely to be the butt of jokes than thin ladies, while big-boned men are more likely to be seen stuffing their faces than skinny guys. Although one in four American women are overweight, only one out of every 100 female TV characters are fat. Researchers will be discussing the findings during the North American Association for the Study of Obesity meeting in Quebec City this week.
