PITTSFIELD, Mass. (Wireless Flash) – A Massachusetts woman has written what can rightfully be called the world’s most annoying book. Laura Lee is the author of the Pocket Encyclopedia of Aggravations (Black Dog & Leventhal), a guide to all sorts of annoying phenomena. Some of the topics explored include folks who drive slow in the fast lane, movie trailers that give away the whole plot and VCR clocks that constantly flash “12:00.” Lee says the guide isn’t just a gripe book – it scientifically explains why aggravating things happen. For example, did you know toast always lands butter side down because the typical kitchen table isn’t tall enough for the toast to revolve a full 360 degrees? However, Lee admits she’s guilty of annoying some of the scientific experts she consulted for the book by asking them to explain the details of the aggravating phenomena.
