SHOULD AMERICANS USE PIGEONS INSTEAD OF THE POSTAL SERVICE?

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Wireless Flash) – If you’re worried your mail might be contaminated with anthrax, try sending it by homing pigeon. According to the head of the American Racing Pigeon Union, Americans could quickly and easily set up a country-wide pigeon message-delivery service. Karen Clifton says right now there are pigeons trained to deliver to every community in the U.S. and their home lofts could serve as substitutes for the local post office. However, the mail-by-pigeon service wouldn’t work for delivering bills or junk mail: Clifton says pigeons are only capable of carrying messages on tiny scraps of paper, about the size of a Post-It note.
