WOMAN TAKING ‘4:20’ BACK FOR JESUS

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – Over the last few years, marijuana enthusiasts have adopted “4:20” as a slang term for getting high. But now, a God-fearing woman in Moreno Valley, California, wants to take the phrase back for Jesus. Laurie Durfee says that besides being stoner slang, “4:20” is also associated with Adolf Hitler’s birthday and the Columbine tragedy – which both occurred on April 20. The 43-year-old mother is praying she can change things with a line of T- shirts designed to make teens think of bibles, not bongs. Each of the “JC4:20” brand shirt features a verse from any chapter of the bible as long as it’s 4:20, such as Ephesians 4:20 – “Living as children of the light.” Some people don’t think Durfee’s plan has a prayer but she says her shirts are popular at her local skate park.
