TOBACCO FIENDS NOW CAN LICK ‘CIGALETTS’

BETHESDA, Md. (Wireless Flash) – Tobacco fiends who want to give up smoking but not nicotine may have an alternative on the tip of their tongue. A company called Star Scientific is test marketing something called a “Cigalett,” a teardrop-shaped piece of paper made of compressed tobacco that contains nicotine and melts on your tongue within 15 minutes. The Cigaletts are designed for smokers who need tobacco but are stuck in a place that doesn’t allow smoking. The company also expects to attract folks who like tobacco but don’t want to inhale smoke – which is the most harmful part of smoking. Currently, Cigaletts are only sold in Dallas and Richmond, Virginia, but, if the product is successful, they may be on the market sometime next year.
