TIPPED-OVER TORNADO CAUSE OF FLIGHT 587 CRASH?

ARLINGTON, Texas (Wireless Flash) – A Texas storm-chaser has an interesting theory as to the crash of Flight 587 in New York: A horizontal tornado may have played a role. Professional storm chaser Martin Lisius says evidence suggests the flight was affected by turbulence caused by a Japan Airlines jet that took off minutes beforehand. He says a large plane can create a vortex that’s similar to a sideways tornado, but air traffic controllers are usually able to prevent any trouble by staggering the flights. Lisius says he checked the weather data from the scene of the crash and says unexpected changes in wind direction and speed may have caused the pilots to lose control of the plane. He admits no one will ever know the true answer but he believes the tipped- over tornado theory is one of the more “plausible possibilities.”
