COLLECTIBLE TRENDS OF THE NEAR-FUTURE

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Wireless Flash) – Buying up Monsters, Inc. or Harry Potter memorabilia in hopes of selling it for a fortune? Well, be prepared to wait about 20 years before your collection is worth anything. According to collectibles expert Terry Kovel, an item needs to be between 15 and 25 years old before it attracts serious collectors. If you have patience, there are some items made in the ’80s that are starting to become valuable, such as laserdiscs, primitive videogames and anything related to KISS. However, the most surprising collectors’ trend revolves around Tim Burton’s 1993 film, The Nightmare Before Christmas. The movie wasn’t a blockbuster but products from the film have become valuable in a relatively short time, which bodes well for the future.
