SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash) – Online video game players have spoken: they’re backing Lord of the Rings over Harry Potter – and they’re taking no prisoners. As the December 19 opening date for LOTR nears, the battle between fantasy fiction fans is heating up in online roleplaying game chat rooms where the chatter is definitely pro-LOTR. Most game players are expressing their opinion by saying “Harry Potter sucks” and “Like duh – LOTR.” However, some vicious players have been seen typing “Harry Potter can shove it,” while another player remarked “Lord of the Rings owns that little queer.” On the other hand, if Potter fans are as vicious, they’re keeping it to themselves and are refusing to discuss LOTR in Potter-related chat rooms.
