‘LORD OF THE RINGS’ STAR CURES INSOMNIA BY TEARING UP BIBLES

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Some people count sheep to get to sleep but Oscar-nominated actor Ian McKellen prefers to rip up bibles. McKellen, who plays Gandalf in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, recently told gossip reporter Baird Jones whenever he stays in a hotel room, he always tears out Leviticus 18:22 from the Gideon Bible – the passage directed against gays. The openly gay McKellen figures he’s probably defaced a few hundred Bibles but isn’t sure anyone has ever noticed. However, he keeps doing it in the off-chance that an insomniac who might be “especially vulnerable to Leviticus’ pornography” doesn’t read it. McKellen’s Bible-ripping sleep technique may not work for everyone but he says it helps him sleep better at night. Lord Of The Rings opens nationally December 19.
