COMPUTER SCIENTIST: ‘SEGWAY’ NOVEL BUT NOT REVOLUTIONARY

CRANFORD, N.J. (Wireless Flash) – The new people mover known as the Segway Human Transporter isn’t exactly moving a computer scientist in Cranford, New Jersey. Dr. Jack Schulman of the American Computer Company says the idea of gyroscopic sensors to maintain balance is novel, but really nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, he claims the same effect could have been achieved with a third wheel in the rear of the gizmo – which would also save riders the extra hassle of balancing themselves. Schulman predicts the Segway may have a niche market in places like shopping malls, but doesn’t believe it’s more revolutionary than the internet as some folks say.
