INDONESIAN ‘PRINCE’ NOW RUNS A HAIR SALON

WESTCHESTER, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – When 39-year-old Harry Suhendra was growing up in Indonesia, he was the equivalent of a prince thanks to his family’s profitable rice distribution company. But these days, he’s making 10 times more money just by running two hair salons in the U.S. The Westchester, California, businessman has a master’s degree in electrical engineering, but decided to switch to hairdressing because he thought he’d make more money snipping locks than wires. Now, Suhendra owns two Fantastic Sam’s salons and is one of the chain’s top performers – pulling in 800 customers a week at just one of his salons. The ex-engineer is more than happy with his cut of the profitable hair salons, but says if he’d gone right into hairdressing, his upper-crust family – quote – “...would have killed me.”
