SHOPLIFTING ALL THE RAGE WITH STICKY-FINGERED CELEBS
SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash) – Winona Ryder’s shoplifting adventure made some big headlines but, according to a San Diego shoplifting expert, she’s not the only celeb with sticky fingers. Charles A. Sennewald – who runs a private security firm – says celebrities who use the five-fingered discount are very common. Stars like Courtney Love, Ol’ Dirty Bastard and the late Dean Martin – who liked to lift socks and ties – are known shoplifting. Sennewald says famous folks often take to shoplifting to indulge in a little down-and-dirty criminal decadence, unlike folks who steal because they’re hungry or needy. But it’s a safe crime, he says, because shoplifting penalties are usually pretty mild.
