’TIS THE SEASON TO BE SEXUALLY HARASSED

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Talk about courting lawsuits: The holiday season is also the time when most sexual harassment suits are filed. That’s the verdict from sexual harassment attorney Philip Berkowitz, who says most of the suits are filed because of activities at wild office parties. Berkowitz says the alcohol and unsupervised setting create a scenario where employers get a little randy and put the moves on employees. Although standing under mistletoe is relatively safe, Berkowitz says everything else – including offering a woman a massage or dragging a man on the dance floor against his will – could be a potential lawsuit. It isn’t just women who are the victims of the office party sex harassment. These days, Berkowitz says modern businesswomen raised on Dynasty and Melrose Place see no problem with abusing their power to get sex and, as a result, more men are filing sex harassment suits.
