‘DEATH POOL’ PICKS FOR 2002

DETROIT (Wireless Flash) – Alice in Chains might not have had a hit in the last few years, but singer Layne Staley has taken quite a few of them – and that just might lead to his downfall. A Detroit-based health researcher who goes by the name “Death Pool Dave” is placing the drug-addled Staley at the top of his list of young celebrities who are most likely to die in 2002. Right behind Staley in the under-40 death pool is baseball bad boy Darryl Strawberry, who is also a favorite to strike out with a drug- related death in the next year. Rounding out the fatal field are Robert Downey Jr – who was No. 1 on the list last year – Scott Weiland, Whitney Houston and Leonardo Di Caprio.
