Half of All Crop Circles Crop up in England

LONDON (Wireless Flash) – England is still getting the cream of the crop circles. According to the International Crop Circle Archive, 197 crop circles were discovered worldwide in 2001, and 104 of those were in England – about 53 percent of the total. By comparison, the runner-up country, Germany, had only 24 sightings (12 percent); and Canada came in third with 19 sightings (10 percent). But crop circles aren’t cropping up as much as in 2000 when 275 were reported and crop circle expert Andreas Mueller attributes the decrease to a cold winter, rainy spring and Foot and Mouth disease – all of which limited travel in the areas most likely to have the circles. However, Mueller also suspects those factors also limited the number of hoaxers going into fields.
