According to the show’s costumer Kathi Nishimoto, who personally dresses Vanna everyday, off-the-shoulder tops make it hard for Vanna turn around the letters. Nishimoto has been dressing Vanna for 12 years and rejects any outfits if the game show icon can’t lift her arms freely in them. Because of the attention that Vanna shoulders, Nishimoto has learned other tricks. For instance, when Vanna wears a long gown, the hem is shorter in the front so she won’t trip and fall on her face during the taping.
