LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Iron Maiden might seem like a pretty macho band, but one all-female Iron Maiden cover band says the girls can rock just as well as the boys. According to Melanie Cisneros, bassist for the LA-based Iron Maidens, the band formed last year because “an all girl Maiden sounded like a unique idea.” Cisneros says sometimes at their shows they have guys call them out as “just a bunch of girls,” but she says she’s been a fan of Iron Maiden since she was “trying out her first training bra.” She claims she can spout the Maiden stats and tell concert stories with the best of them. One thing the Iron Maidens won’t be feminizing, however, is the Iron Maiden mascot Eddie. Cisneros says they tried, but Eddie looked “ridiculous in drag.”
