Don Francisco Says Latin Entertainers Are More Versatile

MIAMI (Wireless Flash) – Latin stars like Shakira and Enrique Iglesias are currently chartbusters and one person who isn’t surprised is Mario Kreutzberger, better known as “Don Francisco.” Francisco has hosted the Spanish language variety show, Sabado Gigante, every Saturday night for nearly 40 years and introduced many top Latin stars to an international audience. The current success of musicians like Shakira and Iglesias is no surprise to Francisco. He says Spanish-language entertainers have an advantage because the culture requires them to sing, dance AND act. In Francisco’s words, “When the market is small, you need to do more things to get work.” He’s practicing what he preaches: Francisco’s just written an autobiography, Life, Camera, Action (Grijalbo Books).
