The Fixx Fixing For Comeback With ‘Boots’ Remake

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – The ’80s band The Fixx is fixing for a comeback – and plan to do it walking in Nancy Sinatra’s “Boots.” The Fixx has just recorded a remake of Nancy’s 1966 No. 1 hit, “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’,” and lead singer Cy Curnin thinks the new version should run up the charts as well. It’s the first time The Fixx has recorded a cover song and Curnin says recording the “Boots” remake was a kick. Still, he admits it was difficult figuring how to make the song sound “more masculine” until he started singing the song much lower than the original and changing the guitar rhythm in the chorus. “These Boots Are Made For Walkin”’ appears on a compilation CD, When Pigs Fly, and The Fixx will release their next album, Want This Life, later this summer.
