Parrot and Human Team Up for Comedy Act

RENO, Nev. (Wireless Flash) – A comedian in Reno, Nevada, knows about winging it on stage because his pet parrot delivers all the punchlines. Joe Tyler and his African Grey parrot “Buckwheat” have been performing together around the country for almost nine years doing an act called “The Buckweat and Joe Show.” Joe is the straight man, while Buckwheat is the cut-up delivering wolf whistles, dog barks and doing the “Funky Chicken” dance. The two update their act regularly with new tricks that can often take Buckwheat several months to learn, says Joe. Joe and Buckwheat mostly perform at bird clubs, libraries and schools, but Joe says he also takes Buckwheat to his work at the state mental hospital where he is a peer counselor.
