Scooby-Doo Star: Thank God I was a Mime
LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) Being a mime does have its benefits at least for Matthew Lillard, who plays Shaggy in the upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo. He says the movie made him grateful for his experience as a mime since he had to act opposite a talking dog that wasnt there until animators added it in post-production. Lillard tells the upcoming Boxoffice magazine, At acting school you always have to do this whole mime thing, and thank god, because I used so many of those skills in this movie. The mime experience especially came in handy in scenes where the animated Scooby tackles Lillard and leaps into his arms and in co-star Linda Cardellinis opinion, it works. Cardellini, who plays Velma, says the end result looks great. Scooby-Doo opens in theaters June 14.
