Film Director: ‘Make Room For Disabled News Anchors’

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – If a New York-based group of disabled reporters has its way, the next CNN anchor might be mentally handicapped. How’s Your News?, a five-person team of handicapped reporters, is out to prove its reporters can do just as well as Peter Jennings or Connie Chung. To spread the word, they’ve made a feature-length film featuring their unique interviewing style – which consists of approaching random people on the street and asking questions like “How’s your hamburger?” or “How’s your sports?’ Director Arthur Bradford followed the How’s Your News? team while they traveled across the U.S. interviewing everyone they met. Bradford says he’s gotten lots of criticism from folks who say he’s exploiting the team for laughs, but claims he’s doing it because he knows the would-be anchors love what they do. How’s Your News? hits independent theaters this summer.
