Newlyweds: Dumpster Dive to Decorate Your Home

WESTMINSTER, Md. (Wireless Flash) – Newlywed couples shouldn’t be down in the dumps if they don’t get all the gifts on their registry – they should just go dumpster diving. It sounds trashy, but home decorating expert Donna Babylon says there are tons of household treasures waiting to be found on trash day. She says newlyweds can furnish a whole home with a few good dumpster-diving expeditions, finding everything from La-Z-Boy recliners to dishes to drapes. Besides being a great money-saving measure, Babylon says trash-picking is so much fun couples can make a date out of it. But before you set out, there are a few tips to follow: Bring a van or pick-up, a multi-purpose tool for disassembling big pieces and blankets to protect your car. Babylon also cautions against picking up any dumpster finds that smell funny or are in need of too much repair.
