Baldies Putting Their Locks in Hairogenic Storage
SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash) Scientists havent figured out a foolproof way to regrow hair but when they do, some chrome domes will be prepared. Around 100 baldies have stowed away samples of their hair in a vault beneath a hair salon in Portland, Oregon, waiting for the day it can be regenerated on their heads. Each tuft is treated to prevent disintegration before its vacuum- sealed into a plastic pack thats stored in the fireproof, flood-proof facility. The company behind the strand storage service, San Francisco-based Hairogenics, Inc., is run by a former hairdresser whos losing his own hair. Mike Blaylock says he prefers storing hair to using Rogaine because it wont give him dandruff or ruin his sex drive. He expects the $10-a-year service will be bigger than Viagra and hopes to work with biotechnology companies so his clients are first in line for hair regrowth trials.
