Cross-Dressing Karaoke Queen Singing the Blues

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash) – A cross-dressing singer in San Diego is singing the blues because of what he feels is a conspiracy in the karaoke community. The singer calls himself “Satin” and has been singing as a woman for the past seven years because, in his words, “night clubs don’t hire male sopranos.” Satin sings at gay bars but prefers straight clubs because straight people can’t tell he’s in drag. Things were humming along nicely until some of his karaoke competitors wanted him to drop his drag and perform as a man, so they made a fuss to officials. Now, Satin fears his “elegant dresses” are being used against him in his quest to be declared “America’s best karaoke singer.” Still, the cross-dressing crooner isn’t giving up and insists he’s still the man – and woman – to beat at the national karaoke championships taking place this September in Laughlin, Nevada.
