Hypnotist Claims ‘The Force’ Is With Us
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Wireless Flash) – “The Force” isn’t just a Jedi Knight skill, according to one hypnotist. California-based David Barron claims there are parallels between The Force and hypnosis, although Star Wars uses very stylized examples. For instance, when Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones hits theaters May 16, fans will see Obi Wan Kenobi use mind tricks to ward off a sketchy character in a bar who tries to sell him “death sticks.” That’s not too far off from what you can accomplish with hypnosis. Barron says, depending on your rapport with a person, you can make suggestions, and in the right context, convince them to do what you say. Also in the upcoming flick, Anakin Skywalker uses The Force while guarding Padme Amidala to sense if she’s in danger. Barron claims people can do this in real life by shutting off their own internal dialogue so they can sense other peoples’ intentions.
