Theme Park Offers Reward For Stolen Comic Book

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – The Universal Orlando theme park is hoping to cut a deal with the unknown “polite comic book thief” who stole a copy of The Amazing Spider-Man Number 1 from a comic store in Manhattan earlier this month. A theme park spokeswoman says Universal is willing to trade a free lifetime pass, no questions asked, in exchange for the return of the comic book, valued at $6,500. But the comic book’s former owner, Stephen Passarelli, doesn’t expect the crook to cough up the goods, because he thinks the book has already been sold. Passarelli thinks that the thief probably already had a buyer lined up because he just stole merchandise and not cash. He’s also not too keen on the amusement park’s “no questions asked” policy because wants to get back all the merchandise stolen, not just the Spider-Man book – about $20,000 total.
