76-Member Rap Posse Wins Big With Bologna Anthem

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – 65,000 kids recently participated in a contest to win money for their school’s music programs, but the winner might surprise you – it was a 76-member rap group. Today (May 21), the 76 fifth graders from Albert Einstein School in the Bronx will be awarded top honors in the Oscar Mayer company’s Jam Talent Search – which asked kids to record their own version of Oscar’s Mayer’s famous bologna jingle. Oscar Mayer marketing manager Tom Moe says it was rap lyrics like have to beat me down/ before I put my sandwich down and don’t frunt, you know it’s good/ Oscar’s big/ it even moved its way to the hood that sealed the deal for the rap posse. For their effort, the hip hoppers won a cool $10,000 for their school and will rap their jingle in a TV commercial later this year.
