Liberace Museum Getting A Face Lift

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash) – After 23 years, the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas is getting a facelift. For years, the museum which houses the flamboyant pianist’s most valuable artifacts has been located in a strip mall next to a real estate office. However, now museum officials have refurbished the building to better resemble the extravagant entertainer, who died in 1987 at the age of 67. For instance, the outside wall has a tile mosaic portrait of Liberace and the entrance is a giant rhinestone topped with an enormous pink piano. Museum spokeswoman Sandra Harris says Liberace may have been a flashy dresser but the museum also proves he was a talented musician who “...brought classical music to the masses.” The Liberace Museum officially reopens May 30 when former proteges Siegfried and Roy show up to cut a rhinestone-covered ribbon.
