and so on

i wish you could have been there with me...
in santa barbara and san luis obispo to see...
nectarines line the side walk downtown...
reach up and you can eat one during the spring...
taste its sweet juices on your lips and in your mouth...
and feel it's cool stickiness run across your hand...

i wish you could have been there with me...
because those nights... always cool and clean...
the stars always speak to you and tell you things never heard...
be happy with who you are because life is all you have...
ride with the wind in your face and cry your eyes out then look up...
and they will be there with you again...
to tell you something new to comprehend...

i wish you could have been there with me...
to see that red algae in the salty sea...
that when disturbed glows a bio-luminescent blue...
the waves come off the ocean like a rolling blue fire...
and off a rare unlit pier, at night you will find a sight...
toss a rock off that long, strong and splintered pier...
and watch a hundred shadowy fish swim away...
like a single blue firework exploding on new years day...
