Beautiful evening sunset inspiring procrastination of daily duty, you captivate me and carry me from everything in life that is listless and annoying. I gaze out the window of my dorm room just as much as I gaze out the window of my soul as I watch you gently lay down. You give a little meaning to a sometimes meaningless word. Maybe you'll remind a few empty souls that there is still life to quench that bleak and desolate thirst they have always had.
Pink clouds float and fly across your golden warm and lucid sky. May someone that is sharing this with me day dream for a second please. Are those clouds perched in the sky that look like balls of cotton candy just as sweet and pink as the real thing. Close your eyes and find the branch they sit on. A purple shadow hides behind this cloud from the sun. Pink and purple wisps and soft curls all brought together as one make each cloud seem as if someone laid a pile of pillows down across the northern sky.
The sun now slowly sets on the hills that look like black, silhouetted lumps as compared to their usual tan ness that resemble camel humps. The sun, a bright jewel, dares you to look at it's burning lucidity. All but a small piece of sun is set on top of the hills. Glance now at the burning diamond before it rests. Could this be the last sunset you have? Or just the last sunset you see before you transcend into an appreciator of life. Don't answer now though for the black hole that is the hills has swallowed the sun. We are left with a pastel evening blue sky along with pink and light purple clouds that hang over a darkening valley.
Don't bury your head, look above the hills where our sun left us and see the warm and robust blend of colors. A burning rhythm of color starting with a goldish orange that lifts into the sky where it all blends into a warm yellow before dying into the bright blue sky that holds our cotton candy clouds. Slowly creeping up on the other side of the sky is a growing wedge of midnight blue. A greyish white jet trail slices across this darker sky, and it lays on the midnight blue looking like a white shoelace that had been stretched out and laid upon the upside down ground.
Light slowly fades and the cotton candy clouds go dark and stale. Slowly the whole sky unwillingly lets go of the sun, and the embers that once were a great fire in the sky slowly fade. What once was a warm sunset is now almost gone and all that is left is a bluish glow over the lumped dark hills to the west. Nighttime will soon come, and what a beautiful night of procrastination it will be for the somewhat burdened thing we call life.
