I was in a parking structure and I couldn't find my car. It wasn't where I thought I left it. I felt lost. Then people started coming in from the movies, got in their cars and went home until there were only a few cars left in the building. And I still couldn't find mine. We went to the topmost level of the structure. (I don't know who the others were. There were two or three of them.) The floor was cavernous. It was empty except for the odd bit of trash here and there. It was a forgotten part of the building and no one had been there in ages. At the far side of the room opposite the ramp we came up of was a diorama of a forest. It was huge, life-size... almost like a stage... dark trees with massive trunks growing on the side of a hill. Everything was made of cement, but painted simulate the real thing. It was built so that the sky in the background was the real sky outside and I saw that it was actually day time. I thought it was night time because it was dark in the lower levels. I climbed the "hill" to get a closer look at the woods, wondering loudly what the tableau's purpose might have been. "Why don't you put this on and find out," said one of the guys, holding out a star-shaped thing that he picked up from forest floor. It vaguely looked like a face-hugger from the Alien movies. We
started heading back to the lower levels and we passed by an open window
or a big crack in the wall. It looked like a living room on the other side.
But like the top floor it also looked abandoned like no one had lived there
in ages, if anyone had actually lived there at all. There was a figure
sitting on the sofa. I could see the back of its head, obviously a woman
with blond hair. Surely a mannequin, I thought. But when I went closer
the wig slid off it's head revealing a skeleton.
