I read an article discussing a state where it is legal to
perform a marriage-like 'civil-union' ceremony for homosexuals.
The passing of the law raised big controversy throughout the
state. One resident compared the division to the Civil War's
North and South. Half of the state thought that the law was a
swell idea, while the other half didn't. Personally, I don't see
what the big deal is. I can see nothing wrong with this law. I
think you should accept homosexuals or leave them alone.
How can any decent human being condemn people that they can't
possibly understand? If someone was being gay just to be
different, I can understand, but how can such a large portion of
the population be faking it? It isn't like a lesbian can control
the way she feels about other women. I can't see any possible way
that a heterosexual could put themselves in a homosexual's shoes.
I strongly believe that you shouldn't hate someone that you don't
understand. Maybe your best friend hates football, your favorite
sport. It isn't like you are going to place hateful signs on
their door, or threaten their life.
What if you are raised hating homosexuals, then when you grow up,
get a job, meet your dream girl, get married and have a gay son?
This son that you have raised since birth, the son that you used
to take to little league games tells you that he is gay. Does the
fact that he is gay totally destroy the value of all the precious
memories that you have shared? If not, then why hate other
people? Is your homosexual son special because he is your flesh
and blood? No. He kisses boys like any other gay guy. Gay is gay.
Don't hate.
If you absolutely cannot accept these people for who they are,
then do society a favor, and get a life. Why is it such a
difficult task to keep to oneself from expressing hate? I really
doubt that any of these homosexuals are breaking into your house
and stealing your stereo. I also really doubt that any of them
are hitting on you. Just mind your own business. If for some
reason a homosexual did do something to you, that is hardly a
reason to hate them all. You shouldn't hate all white people
because one shot your dog. Or would you? Are you that bad? If
someone bothers you that much then stay away from them, don't
form lynching mobs.
In conclusion, I ask the question I have always wondered; why
can't we all just get along? Why go out of your way protesting
someone whom never did anything when it takes so much less energy
to read a book? I suggest you do something to help you deal with
the person(s) you can't help but hate. Go hug a homosexual. It's
not like being gay is contagious.
