I am simply stating a fact; the human race is plagued with many faults. If you are offended, too fucking bad. I'm surprised you even found my site to begin with.
After the recent issue in South Carolina concerning the rebel flag, I have realized that I have some strong opinions on this subject. Or well, honestly, more opinions on the entire racism ordeal in this country than the flag issue itself.
First of all, I like the rebel flag. I personally have never looked at it and thought of slavery. Seeing the flag usually reminds that it's been a while since I heard Freebird on the radio. That's right. It makes me think of southern rock. Oh God does that make me a racist? Or would it make the people calling me a racist because I like the flag a racist themselves?
I have looked at some discussions on the net and other media sources concerning the rebel flag issue. I have also been involved in personal discussions and just listened in on some. I have noticed a pattern here. A lot of black americans are saying white americans should apologize to them for slavery. This shocked me. The ones demanding this have never even been slaves. I'm not apologizing for anything. I've never owned slaves. I can barely get my kids to clean their rooms. Hey, I don't know any current slaves anyway. Okay, some black americans are offended when they see the flag. Simple solution here, don't look at it. No one is trying to bring back slavery. Except for the government, but they don't care if you are black or white, you either do what they say or you don't have a home. Sorry, had to throw that in. Hope no government workers were offended. Anyway, it makes me sick to see so many people fighting over this. The war is over. Just because the flag makes a certain group of people think of one thing, it also makes another group think about something different. If I can't tell you what to do and how to feel, you can't tell me either. I've heard of lot of black americans say that they hate all the controversy because it makes all of them look bad. Well, it's not doing a lot for us white folks either. I can't tell you how many black people have started shit with me based only on the fact that I'm white. Hey, people, it works both ways. Neither race is all that great if you ask me. As a white person, I do get pissed when a black person tells me I have it easy and have more opportunities. If white people have is better, I wish someone would let me know where they are living because I want to move there. I don't have it easy. The more people bitch about this, the we can all find reasons to hate each other. I've got enough reasons to hate without a persons race being involved. Just because a few stupid loud people can get some TV time claiming to represent an entire race, everyone can sit back and assume all members of the race in question have the same opinions. Not all black people are crackheads and not all white people are rich. Not all mexicans are illegal aliens and not all middle easterners are plotting to blow us up. Not all Orientals are trying to buy our country. I could go on and zap everyone but I think you should have the idea by now. There are more important things to spend our time fighting over than a fucking flag.
Claiming racism is the popular thing to do. Everyone is so scared of offending someone else that often the 'bad guys' get away with everything. And in case you didn't notice, all races have these 'bad guys'. I'm white so I do have some shit to say. I'm tired of hearing about all the injustices happening to everyone but white people. We aren't allowed to say someone doesn't like us because we are white. If we do we are assumed to be members of the KKK and rednecks that worship Hitler. In the fight by minorities for equal rights, something has gone wrong, I think the majority of them have forgotten or misunderstood the meaning of equal rights. It doesn't mean that because your race was discriminated against for a while or still is on some levels and that you get to do it back to someone else. That is not equal rights, that's super rights. The very thing you are supposed to oppose. If you were treated badly, why in the hell would you want to do it to someone else?
I know for a fact that I am not the only person thinking this. But most won't say it outloud in fear of losing their jobs or being physically attacked. I'm disabled right now so I don't have a job to lose and if anyone attacks me, I don't care what race they belong to, my dogs will get them for me.
Black people want equal rights. White people want equal rights. Everyone wants equal rights at the expense of others. There's nothing equal about that. If this country says we can't use the rebel flag, they damn sure better take the american flag away too. If flags are so offensive to everyone, we better watch our backs. Imagine what the indians must feel when they see the american flag. By the way, indians have more right to bitch than anyone else in this country. I'm not going to bring up the jews because that happened somewhere else. But you would think that by the example Hitler was that maybe all this controversy wouldn't be going on. Kind of say something about how much we've learned. Okay, I'm straying off the subject again but think about that last statement anyway.
Oh fuck, I've got so many thoughts going on right now I can't put them down in any logical order. But then again, this isn't a logical subject to be writing about. I'm just so sick and tired of this 'war' between black and white. I've got kids to raise. How am I supposed to tell them not to be a racist when they go to school and see it? Maybe I'm just fed up with hearing about white people having it made. We don't. Maybe if I didn't have all this shit going on in my life right now I wouldn't be so pissed off. For those of you that think you are hated because of your race, try being a white single mother that has been abused by a man and lost her job and healthcare only to find out that the abuse caused serious harm to her body and no one will help you. I can tell you from experience that I have had black people in charge of some of my medical situations and heard comments like "another white bitch got her ass kicked and thinks she should get help." Now, those kind of comments don't make me hate all black people but have made me worry now when decisions are in there hands. But I would also like to say that one of the most understanding and helpful person in my recent troubles was a black woman who took shit from black co-workers about helping me. Why should this woman have to take shit at work for doing her job? She's black and apologized for the behavior and attitude of her black co-workers. I told her she doesn't have a damn thing to apologize for, just as I don't have anything to apologize for with the rebel flag issue. It is no more her fault that members of her race can be stupid and cruel than it is my fault that members of my race can be that way also.
I'll tell you something that pisses me off. The all black or all hispanic radio stations, TV stations and college funds. If a white person tried to put an all white TV station on, the building would get blown up. If all these minorities wanted to be equal, why do they think that they should get their own shit? Shouldn't we all have the same opportunities? Instead of working towards that, everyone comes up with the 'all mine' attitude. Take MTV for example, it started off to be all music videos. Everyone got pissed because it wasn't offering enough diversity. Now it sucks and I don't want my kids watching it because of all the sex on there. The trouble I go through so my daughter can watch her beloved BackStreet Boys. There are all black music channels now. All hispanic channels now. But you will never see an all white music channel because everyone would be offended. The people that are offended the most are the ones that hate the most and are filled with racism to the point where they think they are better and should rule the world.
In trying to please everyone and not offend anyone, we have been left with nothing but crap for entertainment and fear of assault in our daily lives. Something went wrong. It probably sounds like I hate black people but I don't, no more than any other race that is, including my own. I'm just tired of hearing that white people get this, white people get that. Right back at you, whatever you are. Out of all my friends, the ones that are black hate this the most; they feel like all white people hate them because of what some black people say and how they behave. I find this interesting because I feel the same way when it comes to black people hating me. Everyone born and raised in this country should be fighting for the same thing. A better life. So all you people out there that say you want equal rights for everyone, make sure that it's equal rights you are fighting for and not world domination.
Now, you are going to hate me but I have to say this. I do think this country should really do something to cut down on immigration. I'm not saying that people from other countries should never be allowed to move here. But until we can take care of our own, we should slow things down a bit. I admit that I am resentful of those that move here from a poorer country to work a few years, send money home to build a nice house and eventually move back. I don't think this should be allowed. There is an obvious unemployment problem here and too much poverty. I don't think we should let people come over here that have no intention of staying, that only come to make a profit and then leave. It takes away jobs from those of us that are born here and plan on dying here. We pay taxes. The welfare system has been destroyed by the kind of people I'm talking about. The government will tell you that it is not true when they speak to you. But ask anyone that works for them and they will tell you I'm right. I'm not trying to be selfish but I get pissed that the schools have to slow down the level of education to accommodate non English speaking children that were brought here by their parents for a few years until they could go back with enough money to live well. If you want to come here and stay, that's great, welcome to america. But it you are coming over here to use this country, don't expect me not to notice that it is affecting the rest of us in a bad way. If you are coming because your home country is at war and you are fleeing for your lives, come on, we will help. There's a difference here. Some people need help and as decent human beings, we should extend our help to those that want their children to live past the age of two, those that don't want to be slaves, those that don't want to see their kids getting shot for attending school. But don't come over here with the intent of bleeding our system for selfish reasons. How can we be expected to help the ones that need us when we can't even help ourselves or run out of resources supporting those fucking users I'm talking about.
I'm sure this will bring me some hate mail, so for those of you getting ready to send it now, I would like to say in advance "Fuck you, the point went right over your head." For those of you that understand what I'm saying on this page I would like to say in advance "Thank you!"
No, the fact that certain words are not capitalized was done intentionally, so please don't tell me. I didn't feel like doing it considering the fact that those words are the very thing I'm bitching about, and just to keep it equal, I ignored them all.
