Mutt spent most of his childhood years in a place called Mufilira on the "Copper Belt" region of Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). His family moved down south to South Africa When Mutt was already a teenager. He completed his schooling in the little town of Belfast. He has two brothers, namely Bill (known as "Slug") and Peter. Last I knew, Peter was in the computer field (doing what .... I really couldn't tell you) and Slug was building racing cycles. Slug is a keen cyclist and motor bike fan, himself. Although Slug measures about six feet five inches today, as a kid he was of "podgy" build and was very slow and laid back...hence his nick name.

When Mutt was a kid at school and his friends were into this phenomenon named Elvis Presley, he was a fan of Slim Whitman! I'm sure he picked up a lot of flack from his "main stream" friends, particularly in Africa, where Country music didn't have much of a following. But, such is the nature of Mutt, I think he's always had a pretty good idea of what he wants.

Another nickname Mutt has picked up is "Mr. Green Thumb" and Shania (who has difficulty referring to him as "Mutt") affectionately calls him "Love"!

He is 46 years old and is 16 years older than Shania. They were married December 28, 1993.

Mutt has businesses in New York, London, Los Angeles and Nashville.

On March 20/99 Shania bought Mutt a new horse, an American walking horse, which she rode in the Houston Astrodome that same day! Mutt has 'Cole', a Newfoundlander, who is 2 years old. Mutt also has a Tennessee Walker horse named 'Thunder'. (Thanks to Little Shania for this quote.)
