WELCOME

First let me tell you about the marvellous space I have here at our new home. No longer to I have to "put" everything away when I have to leave it for awhile. The west side of the new addition to the cabin was 3 small rooms when we moved in; each with a tiny window. These rooms could have been set up as guest bedrooms..but..we also had the loft..didn't want to make things too comfortable..LOL..one of the kids might want to move back home; again. 

The first thing we did was dismantle the walls to "feel" the space. So visually now including the hall space you see a room approximately  17 x 30'. We removed the small windows and put into the west wall; a set  windows of almost floor to ceiling; and 12' long. Instantaneously the room came alive. Even on a cold winters day I can sit in my tatty old wing back chair in the sunshine and dream good thoughts.

This past summer Tom fell and squared off with the chainsaw mill attachment a
white pine beam  12" x 16" x 25'. This winter after the ground froze; he brought it to the yard with the tractor. This up-coming spring it will replace the stud walls with the use of three posts left in their natural round shape just de-barked. This is similar to what is used in the hall already. The floors are pine boards and all we had to do was fill in the gaps where the wall used to be. In time these will get resanded and finished...

Now I have plenty of room for shelves, cupboards and long tables to put all my "stuff" on and work at. For once my easel can stay up. I think I must be one of the few people who have a full large size adjustable easel made of black cherry wood. Tom made it for me a long time ago; it has been a constant joy to use.

So? you ask all this marvellous space..what do you do??

Well; for now I'll give you just a few tidbits; but as I get more photos done; I will add to each section, alas; some things are too big to scan. So check each area out..I'll try to add more as quickly as possible. ENJOY!

I am just teaching mysel how to "card bead " ; this butterfly was the first piece I did; and I still enjoy it immensely. The pattern is from Ann Benson's book. I have since designed and beaded my own designs but alas; someone always wants them and I have no others but this one at the moment to scan.
 
 

This is shown about 1/2 size. I had received some opals from a special friend years ago. When he died a few years back I wanted to use them in a special way. I think this does do them justice.

Who gives to the earth?
Who beats the drum in time with her
heart beat, who breathes her life?

What line of power holds the eagle
in the sky and holds her children
to the ground, so they will not fall?

Who walks inside the great bear
and whose eyes does he see with?
Which place holds beauty with life
and which place lies empty?
Who takes the womb of life and 
fills it with stones and divides
the heart and spirit of the earth 
with metal fences?

Who gives to the earth
the sacred gift of time
and learns from this gift?
