New! The News page! (Most Recently Updated 6/18/00)

Beware all ye who enter here, for here be dragns. Those aren't dragons! Well, so they're not dragons, just some fire lizards. But still beware! They're not even proper fire lizards, are they... Okay, okay, so they're just some geckos I found and am calling "fire lizards," I wasn't actually trying to scare anyone away. Please, give me a break. Okay, now that I have pummeled the invisible critic to death, let's get on with it. Here are the lost pages of Grace Mrowicki. Well, it's not that they're particularly lost, just that they're rarely found. I'm fine with that though. It's kinda fun being some sort of secret. Besides, the main purpose is just to ramble at myself and hope someone stumbles along and relates, or at least finds it vaguely interesting. I've been neglecting this page though, so this is more or less the same since I switched to internet trash back in january, was it this year or the year before, I forget. I changed it a little bit then. A lot of it has barely changed since I put the whole mess up in it's fetal state in the summer of '96. But, here's progress...for the first time in probably 3 years, I'm changing the background on this page. So, anyway, this Grace Mrowicki person... Well, that's me, so I'm going to stop talking about myself in the third person. I'm a student at The Putney School (but will be attending Haverford College in the fall - it's official, I got my early decision acceptance! Wahoo!) I live in Putney, VT, a severely small (2500 people), yet surprisingly sophisticated town in Southeastern Vermont.Although I've lived in Vermont my whole life, I am an which, among other things, entitles me to spell honourary with a "u." You can also become an honourary Canadian here. This page was designed for me to be able to ramble on about stuff I like (e.g. guitars, music in general, lacrosse, viking alphabets, duct tape, etc.). I have a friend named Josie who wants me to mention her name, so I did. But enough about the purpose of the page and on to the actual page(!) (what a concept)(why am I using so many parentheses?)
I like reading science fiction and fantasy books, especially funny ones like those written by Terry Pratchett(  L-Space Now!<---Good Pratchett site) and Douglas Adams (writer of the Good Book). I also love reading Margaret Atwood. I like a lot of other stuff too, but I can't put my finger on any of it right now. I love music in many ways shapes and forms (click here for more about music and me ),
especially Ben Folds Five, especially Moxy Früvous, and I got this sampler CD for $3 the other day of scandanavian traditional music which is really good. (I think you get the point that I'm fairly eclectic when it comes to music). I also like making my own music. I play guitar and sing, and also play piano if you want to call that playing. I ALSO play bass recorder (which vaguely resembles a 3-foot legnth of PVC piping that's bent at the top and has holes in it) and lute.

Ron Lunde's Humorscope has been called "uncannily accurate", by at least one person. He constructs them each day (usually), using precise planetary positions, a custom-made analog computer, and ancient Norwegian meditation techniques. Or at least, that's what he would do if he had more time. Currently, he mostly just spins a carrot.

Hexidecimal Color Converter - With this, you can come up with the hexadecimal codes for all colors of the spectrum (with the exception of ultraviolet and infrared, I think).
My Little sister Maria's page - She's my little sister, morally, I have to put a link to her page on mine. Includes a transcript of us bickering and being silly. Remember: It's a potato.
The Virtual Omelette ...because nothing says "I love you" better than the remains of a dead baby chicken...because caffeine and sleep deprivation are a wonderful combination...because it's great to be young and naked....because in some countries, omelettes are considered offensive and I don't like you. Whatever your excuse, the virtual omelette is a cute thing to send to a good buddy or six. It still has yet to fail to amuse me. I think that's a good thing.
The Virtual Postcard Exchange - for all your virtual card needs - from virtual sundaes to a simple card (or maybe not so simple). This is the mose extensive listing of virtual cards type thingies that I know of.
