Terrible Movies and Very Overrated Films

In alphabetical order, here are the real stinkers:
  1. Most Adam Sandler films - I don't know what people see in his movies, they're not funny. How in the heck did this dude ever make it into film? I liked him much better in SNL.
  2. The Adventures of Baron Munchausen - The ONLY Robin Williams film (out of all the ones I've seen so far) that is completely awful.
  3. After Hours - the only Martin Scorsese film I didn't like.
  4. The Alamo - at times, John Wayne's overt nationalistic jingoism makes one want to get really sick.
  5. All About Eve - Aaargh.
  6. All About My Mother. - typical of most films I've seen from Spain, I didn't like it.
  7. Amores Perros. - exceptionally overrated.
  8. Analyze That. - retire from directing Mr. Crystal.
  9. Analyze This. - ditto.
  10. Andrei Rublev - this movie put me to sleep.
  11. Angels With Dirty Faces - This movie hasn't aged well.
  12. Armageddon - pablum pure pablum.
  13. Army of Darkness - Very, very overrated.
  14. Arthur - RIP Dudly Moore but I never could get into any of your films.
  15. As Good As It Gets - To bad the title wasn't an accurate description.
  16. Attack of the Clones (Star Wars episode 2) - Way too loooooonnnnnnngggggggg, sub par acting, and too predictable.
  17. The Bad Lieutenant - Should've been called "The Bad Movie."
  18. Ballad of Narayama - The beastiality scene made me turn it off.
  19. Barfly - I love Charles Bukowski's books (he's one of my patron saints *g*), however, this movie loosely based on his life is terrible.
  20. Barton Fink - what do people see in this movie?
  21. A Beautiful Mind - I was expecting a great deal more.
  22. Being John Malkovich - Brillant concept, terrible movie.
  23. Beverly Hills Ninja - Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Chris Farley fan, however, this film gets an F.
  24. Birth of a Nation - I love good silent movies, this one put me to sleep.
  25. Blade Runner - see my comments about Being John Malkovich.
  26. Blaze - True story -- who cares.
  27. The Blue Kite - I love oriental movies but this was boooorrrriiiinnnnngggg.
  28. Brazil - Very overrated.
  29. Breatheless - Probably the most boring foreign film I've ever seen.
  30. Blue Velvet - Dennis Hooper couldn't act even if his life depended on it.
  31. Boogie Nights - Burt Reynolds was in it -- I should've known better.
  32. Bound - Should've been called "Gag" because that the effect it'll have on most viewers.
  33. Boys Don't Cry - She asked for it -- gross.
  34. Branded To Kill - let us start with the producers!
  35. Bridges of Madison County - A boring chick flick, what could be worse?
  36. Burt Reynolds movies - with the exception of Deliverance almost all of his movies are terrible.
  37. Buffalo Bill & The Indians - Made circa the late '70's. Had an all-star cast but it really sucked. May be the worst movie I've ever seen.
  38. Buffalo 66 - I am completely in love with Ms. Ricci (I would marry her in a heartbeat) but this movie completely sucked.
  39. Caligula - too myopic, didn't know if it wanted to be porn or if it wanted to portray the depravity of the Roman Empire.
  40. Castaway - expected a lot more.
  41. Chariots of Fire - What's the big deal?
  42. Chasing Amy - Huh?
  43. Chinatown - For the most part Roman Polanski films are grossly overrated.
  44. Chungking Express - just couldn't get into it.
  45. Citizen Kane - The most overrated film of all-time.
  46. The City of Lost Children - Great visuals but just couldn't get into the film.
  47. Clearcut - If you've figured this movie out please let me know.
  48. Cleo 5 to 7 - boring.
  49. Clerks - Starts out quite well then just goes downhill from there.
  50. The Color Purple - Oprah is a wonderful person and she helps many people & causes but she should stay away from acting.
  51. Come and See - overrated.
  52. Conan the Barbarian - How could they screw up the most riveting character in sci fi fantasy?
  53. The Conversation - in a sense cool but still it's overrated.
  54. Crash - Yeah, why don't you, do us all a favor.
  55. Cries and Whispers - Most Ingmar Bergman films are great, except this one.
  56. Dance Me Outside - disappointing.
  57. Das Boot - boring.
  58. Dead Man - very overrated.
  59. The Decalogue - Very dark and very depressing.
  60. Deconsturcting Harry - I love Woody Allen movies but some of his later movies have become worse as he's gotten older -- this is one of them.
  61. The Doors - There was much more to Jim Morrison than this. Come on.
  62. Double Indemnity - hasn't aged well at all.
  63. Dracula - the version with Bela Lugosi -- very disappointing.
  64. Dr. Strangelove - very overrated.
  65. Dreams - One of the few Kurosawa movies that wasn't that hot.
  66. Dumb and Dumber - you got that right, can you say the dumbing down of America?
  67. Dune - Huh?
  68. Eddie Murphy films - Oh man don't get me started.
  69. The Edge - you know the movie is going to be bad when the bear is the best actor.
  70. The Exorcist - disappointing.
  71. Fargo - Oh brother, you mean to tell me an ingnorant squarehead outmanuvers criminals. Come on. I wanted to kick her ass.
  72. La Femme Nikita - absolutely terrible.
  73. Freaks - Overrated and hasn't aged well at all.
  74. A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum - Exactly, it didn't show up in this film.
  75. Gandhi - I liked this movie but it should've been...well...there was something missing.
  76. The Gangs of New York - don't always believe what the newspaper film critics say. Style over substance makes disppointing films every time.
  77. Ghostbusters - Who you gonna call? Not these guys!
  78. Gone With The Wind - The 2nd most overrated film of all time.
  79. Go - Yes. Please. Go why don't you.
  80. Goodfellas - How many times can you say fuck? How many people can you shoot? In essence, that's about it; at least Casino had a story to it, this movie was a trip to the gutter.
  81. The Graduate - I was a little crest fallen to find out that Dustin Hoffman is a prick, however, this is not one of his better movies.
  82. The Grand Illusion - exactly.
  83. Guns of Navarone - disappointing.
  84. Hamburger Hill - my sister said this was great, I'll never believe her again.
  85. Happiness - generation pervert strikes out again.
  86. Hard Boiled - Hard Boiled eggs are better than this flick.
  87. High Noon - very overrated
  88. His Girl Friday - overrated.
  89. Independence Day - how stock can you get?
  90. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - very disappointing.
  91. In The Mood For Love - Too languid.
  92. Intolerance - too long, too slow.
  93. Ivan the Terrible - disappointing.
  94. Jay and Silent Bob movies - with the exception of Dogma and Mallrats, their films are pretty bad.
  95. Johnny Guitar - very overrated, terrible acting.
  96. (Most) John Wayne films - some John Wayne films are very good, however, quite a few of them are terrible.
  97. Kalifornia - terrible.
  98. Kikujiro - how can you screw up a road movie?
  99. Lawrence of Arabia - didn't clearly explain the betrayal, this ruins the entire film.
  100. Life is Beautiful - very overrated.
  101. Looking for Mr. Goodbar - when will I learn not to join others and watch chick flicks?
  102. Luna Park - seminal theme, goes downhill from there.
  103. Mad Love - expected a lot more from Peter Lorre.
  104. The Man Who Wasn't There - too bland.
  105. Meg Ryan films - Do us all a favor, retire -- every movie I've seen her in (with one exception) has completely sucked.
  106. Men of Honor - very predictable.
  107. The Mexican - turned it off.
  108. Michael - please.
  109. Midnight Cowboy - overrated.
  110. The Misfits - Huh?
  111. Moulin Rouge (the version with Nicole Kidman) - turned it off after 20 minutes.
  112. Mr. Magoo - I like Leslie Nielsen but this was terrible.
  113. Mr. Smith Goes To Washington - corny patriotism.
  114. Mulholland Drive - absolutely terrible.
  115. The Mummy (the version with Brandon Fraser) - disappointing -- the sequel was excellent though.
  116. My Man Godfrey - another classic that has aged very poory.
  117. Nell - aarrgh.
  118. Noah's Ark (the one aired on TV last year) - Double Aaargh.
  119. O Brother, Where Art Thou - very overrated.
  120. The Odd Couple - boring.
  121. The Omen - the omen should be -- don't see it...terrible.
  122. Once Upon A Time In China - very overrated.
  123. Once Upon A Time In The West - way too long and slow.
  124. Orange County - the best part was the theatrical trailer.
  125. Out of Africa - boring.
  126. A Passage to India - ditto.
  127. Patton - if only they'd tell the truth.
  128. Peking Opera Blues - very overrated.
  129. The Phantom Menace - they killed Darth Maul, boy did I get pissed.
  130. Pink Flamingos - May be the worst movie on this list. AAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhh. Terrible.
  131. The Pirates of Penzance -The one with Kevin Kline. Obtuse, stupid, horrendous, and terrible (those were it's good points).
  132. The Producers - had some funny moments but it's a bad movie.
  133. The Promise - very overrated French film.
  134. Pulp Fiction - Huh? And the point is.....? The Third most overrated film of all time.
  135. Quartier Mozart - I turned it off after about 45 mins.
  136. Rudy - very overrated.
  137. Le Samourai - Mediocre.
  138. Signs - I liked this movie in a way but there was something missing and it was inconsistent with it's own claims.
  139. Sonatine - The oriental version of Goodfellas -- terrible.
  140. The White Balloon - Boring.
  141. Ran - I don't like to run down Kurosawa films but this one...
  142. Repo Man - turned it off after about 45 minutes.
  143. Repulsion - very overrated.
  144. Requiem for A Dream - Sucked.
  145. Richard Pryor movies - most of them were pretty bad.
  146. The Right Stuff - very corny.
  147. Rules of the Game - boring.
  148. Rushmore - bad.
  149. Salo - aargh.
  150. Saturday Night Fever - I should've known better.
  151. Scarface - I put this in the same category as Goodfellas.
  152. The Searchers - very overrated John Wayne film.
  153. Seven - predictable.
  154. Sex, Lies, and Videotape - Sex sells but sometimes it still sucks (no pun intended).
  155. Sexy Beast - What?
  156. Shane - very overrated.
  157. Shine - turned it off after a couple of minutes.
  158. The Shining - OK in spots but IMO, it's overrated.
  159. Six String Samurai - creative yet very low budget film with terrible acting.
  160. Sleuth - terrible.
  161. Small Time Crooks - uninspired.
  162. Some Like It Hot the fourth most overrated film of all time.
  163. Speed - predictable.
  164. Stagecoach - hasn't aged well.
  165. Stand By Me - expected more.
  166. A Streetcar Named Desire - couldn't get into it.
  167. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - terrible.
  168. The Ten Commandments - Vincent Price as an Egyptian? Edward G. Robinson as a Jew? Egads, terrible casting, histrionic grandstanding.
  169. Thelma & Louise - feminists and pissed off women like this movie, others see it for what it is.
  170. Thieves Like Us - Altman could've done a great deal more with this movie.
  171. The Thin Man - not as funny as many have said it'd be.
  172. The Third Man - Orson Wells + movie = terrible.
  173. The Three Amigos - Martin Short was in it, I should've known better.
  174. Three Colors: White - I loved Three Colors Red & Three Colors Blue, too; but this one wasn't so hot.
  175. Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down. - I keep telling myself, don't watch chick flicks.
  176. Titus - I keep telling myself not to watch contemporary Shakespeare movies.
  177. Tombstone - oh brother.
  178. True Lies - terrible, stock, predictable, exaggerated, overtly patriotic.
  179. Touch of Evil - I should've known, Orson Wells...terrible.
  180. UHF - stick to music videos Weird Al.
  181. The Unforgiven - very dry.
  182. The Usual Suspects - predictable -- overrated.
  183. Waiting for Guffman - boring.
  184. We Were Soldier - I am soooooo tired of overt patriotism in war flicks. However, I have to admit the battle scenes are absolutely fantastic.
  185. Wild at Heart - Huh?
  186. Windtalkers - overrated.
  187. Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown - When will I learn? Don't watch chick flicks.
  188. Yellow Earth - one of the few boring oriental movies I've seen.
  189. You Can Count On Me - No I can't, not if you make movies like these.
  190. Y tu Mama Tambien - please.
  191. 12 Angry Men - make a contemporary version, please.
  192. 400 Blows - overrated.
  193. 1984 - how could they botch this?
