En Lewellyn is "Crepuscule". Electronic Voice

Phenomenon researcher, mortician, embalmer, artist, who creates

incredible sensitive computer music from the other side. What is

living. What is death? He has had many frighteningly dark

electronic releases on the Slaughter Productions of Italy and is

included on the "Death Odors" Cd Comp part II. <br>

This CD takes you through the life process through the eyes of an

artist who sees death and experiences it first hand. Comes in

blood red limited edition of 689 colour folder and text with

beautiful cover artwork by r.chartier. Only a release of this

nature could come from Tegal Records. <br>

<br>

Let me just say this and make it simple; this disc will keep you

on the edge of your seat for multiple listens; everything from

minimal ambience to slight machine sounding material to an almost

orchestrated piece; through all of it disembodied voices swirl in

and out; unique & GREAT!!! <br>

<br>

CREPUSCULE \par Music For Decay (CD Tegal) \par Strange, strange

stuff here. Crepuscule is En Lewellyn who, along with \par being

a sonic manipulator, is a mortician (embalmer). The mindset of

one \par who deals with death on a regular basis, one who wanders

through the \par aftermath of anatomical disrepair, is the seed

for Music For Decay. But \par in \par Crepusculeis explorations,

the residue of life is gleaned from the \par process, \par the

history of the deceased laid bare. This fascinating aural venture

\par takes the listener on a journey through a life in perpetual

decay (iFrom \par our first breath to our last we die.i). The key

to the discis \par overwhelming \par strangeness is the use of

EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena--voices from \par ethe \par other

sidei), utilizing them as the building blocks for the expansive

\par trek. \par The voices are hallucinogenic, sifting in and

out, disintegrating upon \par reception...choruses in distant

song...a simple, heartfelt "I Love You" \par resonating

with an undertow of uncertainty. At times almost playful, \par

peaceful and even happy, these samples collide with sounds and

samples \par that \par rise from the depths of despair and grief.

Musically opening with synths \par doused in melancholia, the

disc progresses down more noisy avenues: \par drones \par and

laser slash noises corrode even further (the spiritual, the

physical, \par the mental landscape in denial); further in, the

corrosion of \par everything, a \par blood agony cry within a

cranium encasing a brain in turmoil...the \par rhythms \par of

life/death pulse in looped, regenerative cadences, not willing to

\par acknowledge the dissolving grasp of life. I am left with the

impression \par that I have just listened to a condensed version

of what one sees when \par Death has one in His grip, oneis life

flashing before oneis eyes...the \par good \par and bad and

everything, no ego infused corruption, just the often ugly \par

truth. Inevitably, it all ends in silence...A strange,

discomfiting, \par enlightening piece of work. Unique! (JCS:8)JCS

This release is very hard to describe. Rotating themes of

isolationism, tribal ethnic backdrops, and extensive 22 minute

Death Machines, sends you on a hypnotic journey where the spirit

world and our reality meet for just a moment. Samples were taken

from a spirit communication session that ended in violence. <br>

included on the "Death Odors" Cd Comp part II. <br>

This imported cassette release was Crepuscules first and proves

to be a very interesting listen. It's experimental music made

with a particular personal style - more obscure and haunting;

using voices of dead persons, recorded in strange locations. -

Marco Corobelli Atrax Mourge. Industrial Nation magazine has this

to say about "closing wounds" <br>

<h3 align="center"><font color="#FFFF00">"A bizarre descent

into a world of samples and dark electronic noise. Though (this

sampler) is only eighteen minutes long, it's engaging. There's

not much to it, but it's very surreal. It would make a good

soundtrack for your next Halloween or ooky-spooky Goth party. If

this sampler tape is any indication of what the full-length

contains, it might just very well be worth it (regarding the

import, retail fourteen dollar price tag)." - Nanette

Demo-Lition, Industrial Nation Issue 15</font></h3>

In a recent interview with Zeen Magazine, Kansas City Missouri

and also in Judas Kiss Zine, UK, En Lewellyn has stated that this

release will never be reissued after it's inital run of 100. He

has stated that the recordings contain personal material that he

now feels should not have been available to the public. He

cautions against the playing of the tracks that contain EVP

samples and noted several incidents where the voices of the dead

on this tape have caused "haunting activity" to

escalate in the home of the listener. Sounds odd to me but he

seems to think that spirits and the like that are already in

someones home are attracted to the voices "they hear the

voices which on their side make perfect sense and just like

anyone would do, search out the voices as we would do if we heard

a strangers voice in our own home."} </font></p>

"Cryptomnesia is the realization of 5 years of work created

by myself and collaborators Rufus and Tangent. The themes derived

are the human flight or fight response in action, the inner mind

of the stalker, sexuality, mythic archtypes, religious overkill,

blood in the eyes of the killer and the slow realization of the

end. The last track contains my most extensive research into EVP

(electronic voice phenomena) and an explanation of just what it

is.." -En Lewellyn February 00 regarding

"Cryptomnesia" This track was also provided by En

Lewellyn and remixed by Schloss Tegal and became the title track

to the same titled "Black Static Transmission"
